The 820sq m complex consists
of four air-conditioned Balinese pavilions linked by steps and a shaded
pergola breezeway that stretches from the porte-cochere through to the
solar-heated resort pool where an infinity wet edge gives the impression
it is spilling over to the valley below and on to the coast.
A soaring central tower with exotic timber features designates the formal
entry and heavy studded doors open into the living and entertaining
domain.
Placed around the pool and outdoor terraces that are paved with fossilised
Himalayan slate, the pavilions comprise a guest-house, living and
entertaining domain, and owner’s sleeping quarters that are separated from
a guest apartment by a wide greenery breezeway.
Each pavilion is constructed of energy-efficient rammed earth forming
external and feature internal walls, coordinated by slate roof towers. All
solid cedar doors and windows are custom-made. Exotic timbers include
ironbark, black butt, silky oak, New Guinea rosewood and red cedar, and
shadow-clad walls allow the flow of subdued colours to reflect the natural
harmony of the environment.
Just over two years old, the complex has been cleverly designed for
absolute privacy, peace. Every room has panoramic views either east to the
sea or west to the mountains, opening to landscaped gardens and expansive
terraces.
The self-contained guesthouse incorporates a 5-Star B&B facility featuring
two double bedrooms, attic studio, split bathroom, comfortable lounge,
kitchen and laundry, and sunny deck terrace. On a lower level is a hobby
workshop.
The central living and entertaining pavilion incorporates a spacious
lounge, dining alcove with servery through to the state-of-the-art
kitchen, and a powder room. Balanced for the climate with a log fireplace
for cooler evenings, and soaring timber-lined ceilings, huge glass sliders
merge indoors and out.
A Balinese carved arch separates the gallery foyer in the owner’s home
from a light-filled art studio and adjoining home office - both opening to
a sunny balcony, with internal stairs to a split-level library and loft
bedroom. A point of interest here are the solid beam trusses, steel plates
and enormous bolts.
The indulgent master suite off the gallery draws in the picturesque
panorama at canopy height, with a breakfast nook behind shoji screens,
walk-in dressing room, and ensuite that boasts an exquisite Kohler bath
framed in a picture window, walk-in double shower, and double-basin
vanity.
The self-contained guest accommodation has been designed for two.
Alongside is the double garage, and laundry at the end. A party domain on
a lower level incorporates an enormous games room and art gallery, full
bathroom catering for pool users, utility storage room and bar kitchenette
– an ideal set-up for events, weddings, concerts or business retreats.
The living pavilion offers formal and casual dining areas connecting to
wide covered pool terraces and gazebo garden.
A main living room features soaring ceilings with stunning timber beams
and finishes, a stunning open fireplace, formal dining, Eat-in country
style kitchen, powder room and a series of operable doors to reach the
outer living areas.
The guest pavilion contains three levels. The pool terrace level, houses
self-contained accommodation with a lounge / kitchen, two bedrooms,
bathroom facilities, decks and terrace access.
The upper level is a studio bedroom with hand basin facilities. The under
floor level is reached via the south garden and has three-phase power to a
purpose built hobby or pottery workshop and adjoining gardeners room.
The northern or home pavilion is a multi-faceted u-shaped three-story
building containing a gallery, art studio, large office with internal
access to a private library and reading room, Master bedroom with
adjoining walk-in robe and ensuite
The lower level contains a very large entertaining room, with wet bar
facilities, kitchen and full service bathroom and verandah.
The fourth “utility” pavilion houses the double garage facility, a one
bedroom apartment, laundry and storeroom connected by a covered
“greenway”.
The home is protected by monitored security and electronic gate access and
provides a purpose design plan to incorporate a future tennis court should
you so desire.
The residence contains 820m2 of living under roof and 320m2 of pool
terraces, walkways and timber decks.
